Description

Class VIII, Tilted Hub DoublingClass VIII doubling shows along the top edge edge of the center steps and on the tops of the letters T, I, C of MONTICELLO. Die Markers: Obverse: Die chips on Jefferson's chin and nose; die chip above his left eye. Reverse: Die gouge above T of UNITED; die gouge below M of MONTICELLO; die gouge between V and E of FIVE; die gouge between R and I of AMERICA; die gouge in lower portion of right arch; heavy impression of unknown source through columns 3 and 4.
