Description

Pronounced Class VIII tilted hub doubling extends across UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on this 2022-P Jefferson nickel, with tighter doubling also visible on E PLURIBUS UNUM, cataloged by Craig Simpson as WDDR-007. The Wexler designation is 2022-P WDDR-007. The distinction between "nice" doubling on the country name and "closer" doubling on the motto reflects the characteristic behavior of tilted hub misalignment: elements farther from the tilt axis experience greater displacement while those nearer the fulcrum show proportionally less movement.
