Description
2019 WDDO-031 is a doubled die obverse on the 2019 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows sloped extra thickness, the Y's upper left branch thicker than its upper right branch; the date shows no doubling. On the obverse, chips lie over the R of LIBERTY. Wexler notes that the reverse is itself a doubled die, listed as 2019 WDDR-006, with the designer's initials LB showing sloped extra thickness. Its reverse markers: gouges inside the ME of AMERICA and below it; a scratch leading from the top of the I in UNITED toward the rim; a possible chip just right of the middle of the T in UNITED; and a small chip well SE of the B of LB. Steve Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
