2019 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - SKH-1c-2019-03 Spiked Head

Description

Price guide coverage of spiked heads remains sparse relative to more established Lincoln cent varieties, which has meaningful implications for how the market values pieces like SKH-1c-2019-03. Without a published retail price benchmark in a mainstream guide, buyers and sellers default to realized auction prices, dealer asking prices on variety-focused platforms, and the informal consensus that develops in online forums and collector groups. This creates a more volatile but also more transparent price-discovery process than the guide-driven markets for common doubled dies. For SKH-1c-2019-03, as a cataloged entry on the 2019 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent, the practical valuation ceiling is set by what an engaged collector is willing to pay for a documented variety with a confirmed catalog number—a figure that has trended upward as the Shield cent era has gained more dedicated followers. Collectors comfortable working outside price guide infrastructure find the spiked head market particularly rewarding.
