2019 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-016

Description

2019 WDDO-016 is a doubled die obverse on the 2019 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows sloped extra thickness, with the Y's upper left branch mildly thicker than its upper right branch. The date shows mild extra thickness. Obverse markers, on LIBERTY: a chip below the L near the rim; a chip over the I on its right side; a small chip below the B on its left side; a chip inside the top of the E; a light scratch joining the middles of the T and Y; and a light scratch running SE from the middle of the T. On the date: a small chip inside the 0 at its upper left; a chip above the 1 and another on its center; and a chip above the 9 on its right side. On the reverse, a crack with a chip lies on the shield's top, over the first U in PLURIBUS on its left side. Steve Young submitted the variety. Its Coppercoins numbers are 2019P-1DO-006 and 2019P-1DO-011. Wexler notes that this replaces the original 2019 WDDO-016 listing, which proved to duplicate the 2019 WDDO-013 die.
