2019 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-015

Description

2019 WDDO-015 is a doubled die obverse on the 2019 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows sloped extra thickness, with the Y's upper left branch thicker than its upper right branch; the date shows no doubling. On the obverse, one small chip lies under the 9 of the date and another just below the T of LIBERTY on its right side. Reverse markers: light parallel scratches below the ERIC of AMERICA; a chip just under the right leg of the R in AMERICA; two cracks at the T of CENT, one heading SW from its bottom left and one heading north from its top right; a chip below the J of JFM; and a great many scratches, mostly NNW/SSE, in the field, both through JFM and to its left. Steve Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler notes that this replaces the original 2019 WDDO-015 listing, which proved to duplicate the 2019 WDDO-001 die and was merged into that listing; Steve Bernatowicz is credited with finding the wrong attribution.
