Featuring a light spread to the south, this fourth VarietyVista-cataloged doubled die reverse for the 2018 Philadelphia Mint Jefferson Nickel manifests as an extra top to the triangle within the Monticello design — the triangular pediment above the building's portico, where southward hub displacement created a visible second impression of the upper edge. Light spreads require careful examination under magnification, as the displacement is subtle compared to the medium or strong spreads found on more dramatic doubled dies.
