Description
2016 WDDO-009 is a doubled die obverse on the 2016 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show strong extra thickness. On the obverse, small chips sit on the T of LIBERTY at its center left and on the Y at its lower left. Reverse markers: a small gouge between the tops of the M and E in AMERICA; a strong gouge running WSW from the rim over the D in UNITED, with a shorter gouge doing the same a little to its right; and a crack along the shield's top left, with a large chip above the UR of PLURIBUS. Steve Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
