Description

This 2015 Philadelphia Mint Homestead National Monument quarter carries the DDR-039 doubled die reverse, displaying two different doubling directions within a single variety. A very strong spread directed Southeast appears in window L2 of the cabin, while a light spread directed West is visible in window R2. Die marriage DMR-040 in Stage A shows Early Die State characteristics. Attributed by VarietyVista. The Homestead quarter, part of the America the Beautiful series, features a pioneer cabin representing the Homestead Act of 1862, with the windows designated by position as L (left) and R (right) followed by their row number. The presence of two different doubling directions in the same variety indicates complex hub displacement during die production, where the hub shifted in multiple axes between impressions. As the 39th documented DDR for this issue, this variety demonstrates the significant collector attention devoted to examining this design's architectural details.
