Description

Presenting medium spread with light hubbing directed eastward in window R2 of the Homestead National Monument cabin design, this twenty-second doubled die reverse for the 2015 America the Beautiful Quarter continues the extensive documentation of doubling on this architecturally detailed reverse. Cataloged by VarietyVista under UVC-2121 with die marker reference DMR-023, the variety is documented at Stage A showing both reverse and obverse in early die state, while Stages B and C remain unconfirmed. The light hubbing notation indicates that while the spread direction is east, the depth of the second impression was relatively shallow, producing doubling that may be less bold than varieties with full-depth hubbing. Window R2 refers to a specific window position on the log cabin depicted on the Homestead quarter reverse, and the repeated documentation of doubling at this location across multiple DDR numbers (including DDR-050 and DDR-054 at the same window areas) suggests the cabin windows are particularly sensitive locations for detecting hub displacement.
