2013 (P) Mount Rushmore National Memorial Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-007

Description

2013-P SD WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 2013-P Mount Rushmore National Memorial quarter (South Dakota) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the lower nose of Thomas Jefferson. The obverse is itself a doubled die, Wexler's 2013-P SD WDDO-001, with light extra thickness on LIBERTY and slight notching on its lower right serifs. Its markers: a crack crossing the bust's base and passing through the designer's initials; a scratch running S from beneath the chin; gouges to the right of the base of AMERICA's I and to the left of the base of IN's I; a small gouge within GOD's O; a gouge midway from LIBERTY's R to QUARTER's U; gouges under QUARTER's T and inside UNITED's U; and one touching the lower inside of UNITED's N. Reverse markers: off the suspended worker's right foot a crack runs N; a gouge lies over the scaffolding's far left post, with another just to its left; a gouge sits under the suspended worker's hammer; field gouges lie beneath MOUNT's M and N; two field gouges are under RUSHMORE's R; and a gouge lies in the rocks beneath RUSHMORE's M.
