Description

2013-P SD WDDR-031 is a doubled die reverse on the 2013-P Mount Rushmore National Memorial quarter (South Dakota) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the lower nose of Thomas Jefferson. Obverse markers: thin N/S scratches through LIBERTY's RTY; a curved gouge inside the lower opening of DOLLAR's R; a gouge between QUARTER's U and A; and one between AMERICA's C and A. On the reverse, a crack runs N off the suspended worker's right foot, and a gouge sits beside the top of the leftmost scaffolding post, on its left side. Whaden Curtis submitted the variety; Wexler's additional photos show a coin that George W. Powell, Jr. sent in. Wexler lists no cross-references.
