Description

2013-P SD WDDR-030 is a doubled die reverse on the 2013-P Mount Rushmore National Memorial quarter (South Dakota) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the lower nose of Thomas Jefferson. Obverse markers: a short crack across the bust's base, over the left side of DOLLAR's D; a large gouge to the left of QUARTER's A; a gouge over the right side of LIBERTY's B; a gouge between the bottoms of DOLLAR's D and O; two gouges around the top of DOLLAR's last L; gouges within UNITED's U; a gouge right of UNITED's T; and a gouge inside the upper opening of UNITED's E. On the reverse, a crack heads N off the right foot of the suspended worker, a field gouge lies left of Washington's mouth, and another gouge is to the left of the worker who stands on the scaffolding. Aaron Laramee submitted the variety; Wexler's additional photos show a coin that George W. Powell, Jr. sent in. Wexler lists no cross-references.
