Description

2013-P SD WDDR-020 is a doubled die reverse on the 2013-P Mount Rushmore National Memorial quarter (South Dakota) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the lower nose of Thomas Jefferson. On Obverse Stage A, small gouges sit beside the top of DOLLAR's R on its left, inside the lower opening of UNITED's N, and right of QUARTER's T; there is also a gouge between STATES' A and T and one touching the base of AMERICA's I. Wexler says the Stage A markers are probably still present on Obverse Stage B. On Reverse Stage A a crack passes through the right foot of the suspended worker, and a gouge sits near Washington's forehead, below MOUNT's M. On Reverse Stage B the Stage A markers are probably still present, and a die chip has formed on that right foot. Aaron Laramee submitted Stage A and Alfonso Lopez Stage B. CONECA lists it as 3-R-VIII, and possibly also as 2-R-VIII.
