Description
2010 WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 2010 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows extra thickness, with notched upper left corners on the ERTY. Wexler notes it closely resembles 2010 WDDO-001, but the notching at the upper left of the R and T is weaker here. Obverse markers: a light scratch over the RTY of LIBERTY, running WSW to ENE; below the S in TRUST, a small gouge; halfway up the upright of the T in LIBERTY, a small chip; and a curving scratch from the throat, low on its front, to the underside of the beard. Reverse markers: a short crack going NNE from the shield's top point; a pre-die crack depression at the right end of the scroll, beside the T in CENT near its top; and a west to east scratch under the scroll, beneath the N of CENT. Louis Schaeffer submitted the variety. Its Coppercoins number is 2010P-1DO-002.
