Description
2009-P DC WDDR-022 is a doubled die reverse on the District of Columbia quarter struck at Philadelphia in 2009, cataloged by the Wexler team. Very slight doubling shows right of the left elbow. Obverse markers: a short crack leaving the rim to the right of WE that nearly forms a pre-cud; three heavy dents at the rim between the D of UNITED and the first T of STATES; a strong NE/SW scratch right of WE TRUST; a scratch heading NW from the E of LIBERTY at its upper left corner; and several gouges between the ER of QUARTER and the D of DOLLAR. On the reverse, several gouges lie between the O and R of FOR, and a gouge sits left of the M of COLUMBIA, near its base. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
