Sharing its Wexler designation with companion die varieties in the 2008 Presidential Dollar series, this John Quincy Adams WDDR-011 doubled die reverse exhibits doubling at the intersection of the second ray clockwise from the Statue of Liberty's head and her right arm. This specific location within the Statue of Liberty reverse (designed by Don Everhart) is where the radiating ray and the arm's contour converge, creating overlapping design elements that amplify the visual impact of even modest hub displacement. The obverse die markers — a small die gouge below the O in JOHN and a small die gouge above the dash separating 1825 and 1829 — are positionally consistent with the John Quincy Adams obverse portrait. Reverse markers include a short die scratch running northeast from the top right of the first S in STATES and a small die gouge dot between the lower T and A of STATES.
