2004 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-011

Description

2004-D WDDR-011 is a doubled die reverse on the 2004-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The dots in EPU (E PLURIBUS UNUM) are stretched out, the Memorial floor is doubled in bays 1 through 8, and doubling also shows on the top of the left post. On the obverse, gouges flank the base of the second T in TRUST on both its left and right; a small gouge lies over the Y in LIBERTY; and a gouge is beneath the T in LIBERTY. Wexler adds that many other small gouges are scattered across the obverse. On the reverse, a gouge sits on the right part of the Memorial base under the tenth column; die pitting lies right of the lower second column; and more pitting is between the N and T of CENT, high up, with a small gouge on the upper right of the N. Bruce W. Baker submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
