Die state records indicate Stage A with both reverse and obverse at Early Die State, Stage B at Mid Die State unconfirmed, and Stage C at Late Die State unconfirmed. The consistent westward direction of the spread across multiple 2003 and 2004 DDR varieties may reflect a systematic tendency in the die shop's hubbing equipment during that production period, where mechanical wear or calibration drift could bias the direction of hub displacement during second impressions.
