Error
Description
Doubling from Lincoln’s hand to feet shows on the right edge of column 6 and left of Lincoln’s statue. In addition, a doubled knee shows between the normal legs of the statue. Die Markers: Obverse: A die gouge (dot) shows in the field between the front of the bust and the first 2 in the date. A short die gouge shows at the truncation of Lincoln’s bust, right of the VDB initials. A light die scratch runs north from the upper D in GOD and a similar die scratch shows inside the opening of the O in GOD. A die gouge runs north to the rim from the upper first T in TRUST. A series of die gouges show on and around the front hair curl. Reverse: A die gouge shows on the upper diagonal crossbar of the N in UNITED. Two die gouges show between the letters IT in UNITED. A light die crack shows on upper memorial column 9.
