2000 (P) Roosevelt Dime - Atypical Die Clash ADC-10C-2000-05

Description

ADC-10c-2000P-05 is an atypical die clash on a 2000-P Roosevelt dime, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. MDC notes it closely resembles die 03, so markers and the placement of the clash marks need careful checking when attributing. On the obverse, parts of E, P and L from E PLURIBUS UNUM, some olive leaves and part of ON from ONE appear behind and on Roosevelt's face. The oak leaves show clearly in negative below his ear, and parts of the torch flames sit under his chin. The reverse has heavy abrasion that may predate the clash. A dent or gouge through STATES, shaped like the rim design, might point to an earlier tilted, misaligned clash, but there is no design transfer to prove it. The die was found by Sue Lawson.
