Description

Cataloged by MadDieClashes as ADC-10c-2000-01, this 2000 Roosevelt Dime shows a strong clash on both sides where the obverse and reverse dies struck each other without a planchet between them. Parts of E PL from E PLURIBUS UNUM and the left plant appear in front of and on Roosevelt's face; the negative shape of the right plant is discernible near the ear. Coin courtesy: Aisha Shahid. Atypical die clashes involve die misalignment or bounce that creates more dramatic transfer patterns than typical clashes, permanently marking both working surfaces for all subsequent strikes from those dies.
