Description

1996-D WDDR-015 is a doubled die reverse on the 1996-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. On the seventh column, right of the statue, two parallel angled bars stretch from the knee to the pedestal. Obverse markers: a large gouge under the ear; many gouges above the B of LIBERTY; on the vest, a gouge far above the B of VDB; gouges over the 6 of the date; a large gouge in the space separating IN from the back of the head; and a gouge at the rim over IN. Reverse markers: a die clash remnant in the fourth bay; a gouge between the A of STATES and the P of PLURIBUS; several gouges over the T of CENT; a large gouge right of the base of the E in CENT; large gouges over the N of ONE; a gouge inside the first S of STATES, in its lower opening; a gouge left of the E of E PLURIBUS UNUM; and a gouge above the bushes on each side of the building, left and right.
