1996 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-014

Description

1996-D WDDR-014 is a doubled die reverse on the 1996-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. On the seventh column, right of the statue, a bar runs from the elbow down to the lower knee. Wexler's obverse markers: a gouge linking the tips of the A and M in AMERICA; a gouge touching the first 9 of the date on its lower right side; a gouge above the left side of the 6; a gouge centered above the E and R of LIBERTY; a gouge right of the T in LIBERTY; a gouge in the field behind Lincoln's head; a gouge between the N of IN and the G of GOD, level with the bottoms of those letters; a gouge inside the lower E of WE; and a gouge well above the D of VDB. On the reverse, several small gouges lie to the left of the left Memorial base and beneath it, and a gouge sits at the rim just right of N. Another gouge is left of the lower left side of the C in CENT, and one more is right of the lower T in CENT. Tanner Scott submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
