1996 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-009

Description

1996-D WDDR-009 is a doubled die reverse on the 1996-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. On the seventh column, right of the statue, a bar stretches from the hand's bottom to the lower leg. On the obverse, a small gouge lies SW of the 9's lower tip in the date, and a group of small gouges sits above the B of LIBERTY. On the reverse, a die chip sits on the left side of the cornice, and a gouge is above the left Memorial base. Another gouge lies right of the lower part of the last column, and one more is right of the N of ONE. Daniel Griffin submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler's comments explain that it replaces the first 1996-D WDDR-009 listing, which turned out to duplicate 1996-D WDDR-004.
