1985 (P) Roosevelt Dime - Type I Counter Clash CCLTI-10C-1985-01
Error
Description
CCL(TI)-10c-1985-01 is a Type I counter clash on a 1985-P Roosevelt dime, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. The dies clashed twice, and the two events were far enough apart in position to produce the counter clash. On the obverse, the olive branch with its leaves and part of the letters EPU show both clash events. Doubled marks also come from the torch's right side, under Roosevelt's jawline, and from the top oak leaves, and a line through the date area was left by OF and the AM of AMERICA; lines from the bottoms of the AMERICA letters show behind his neck. That mark behind the neck was actually made by the field below CIRE, reading top to bottom. The counter clash is where the torch mark on the obverse was carried back onto the reverse die with an offset to the right. The reverse die also carries several clash marks from Roosevelt's bust.
