1982 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Zinc Small Date - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

First in the Wexler reverse doubled die sequence for the 1982 Philadelphia cent, WDDR-001 shows strong extra thickness on USA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, the designer's initials, and ONE, with visible separation lines on AMERICA and the D in UNITED — a level of doubling that makes this variety detectable under moderate magnification. The obverse die markers confirm this as a Small Date zinc cent: a die scratch runs north from the upper left of the I in LIBERTY. Reverse markers are particularly abundant — heavy east-west die scratches running north-northwest to south-southeast through the statue of Lincoln inside the Memorial, a die gouge (dot) to the right of the upper T in CENT, and two die gouges below the right side of the N in ONE.
