Description

The 1974 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1974 Lincoln Memorial Cent, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Die markers: Obverse: Thin Date Variety. Parallel die scratches run from NW to SE to the left of and through the G in GOD. A die scratch runs SSE from the tip of the eyelid. A short vertical die scratch can be found on the lower nose. Reverse: A short die scratch runs west from the lower T in UNITED. A die scratch runs from SW to NE in the upper 2nd bay.
