Description
The 1974 Lincoln Memorial Cent was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as a cent in the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C. Congress rejected the aluminum cent proposal. Massive production runs continued with rising copper prices threatening the bronze composition. Philadelphia's mint — the nation's first — has produced coins without interruption since its founding in 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition.
