Description
FDC-1c-1974-01 This floating die clash is derived from a fragment that carried off part of the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The incuse, mirror image letters “OD WE” are seen above LIBERTY. A faint impression of the rim gutter of the die fragment is also present. This cud is listed in The Cud Book (Thurman and Margolis, 1997) as LC-74-1 and on the site Cuds-On-Coins.com as CU-1c-1974-06. It is the most abundant of the six known examples of floating die clash.
