Description

1973-D WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 1973-D Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A clockwise (CW) spread, pivoting near 12:00, shows on IN GOD WE TRUST (IGWT), on the L and Y of LIBERTY, and slightly on the date. On the obverse, a vertical gouge lies SW of the L in LIBERTY. The reverse is WDDR-001, with a Class II+VI spread toward the center on the stars, USA (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) and HALF DOLLAR. A gouge sits left of the top of the star that lies under the A in STATES, toward the A's right side. John Jencek submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
