Description

TDC-100c-1971D-04 is a typical die clash on a 1971-D Eisenhower dollar, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. Two clash events took place close together, and MDC's overlay gives the rough die positions. On the obverse, a crater of the moon left a mark below the R of LIBERTY, under its right leg; the "talon" mark on Ike's head is doubled; an inner feather of the eagle's right wing left a mark in front of Ike's nose; the U of UNUM shows in the field next to the E of WE; and the tips of the left wing show in the field beside Ike's neck. On the reverse, Ike's nose clashed into the eagle's right wing, and the underside of his chin and neck into the globe.
