Description

TDC-100c-1971-04 This 1971-D Eisenhower dollar coin underwent two die clash events that were closely spaced. The overlay shows the approximate location of the dies when they met. The clash mark seen under the right leg of the R in LIBERTY is generated by one of the moon’s craters. The double “talon” mark can be seen on Ike’s head. The clash mark seen in front of Ike’s nose is generated by one of the inner feathers of the eagle’s right wing. The U from UNUM can be seen clashed into the field  beside the E in WE. The tips of the left wing can be seen clashed into the field adjacent to Ike’s neck. Ike’s nose can be seen clashed into the right wing of the eagle. (See white arrow) The under side of Ike’s chin and neck can be seen clashed into the globe of earth.
