Description
1970-D WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 1970-D Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A clockwise (CW) spread, pivoting near 1:00, shows on QUARTER DOLLAR, UNITED and AMERICA. The spread toward the center on the wreath and QUARTER DOLLAR comes from the doubled master hub that Wexler lists as WMHR-001. Wexler notes no significant obverse markers. On the reverse, right of the eagle's left leg lies a strong NNW/SSE gouge, and a small gouge sits left of the U in UNITED. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
