Description

The 1968-S Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1968 (S) Lincoln Memorial Cent, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Die markers: Obverse: A small die gouge can be found south of the E in LIBERTY. Reverse: A die gouge can be found below the O in OF. A die scratch runs south from the bottom left of the R in AMERICA. Numerous die scratches run from SW to NE through the first four Memorial bays. Other die scratches can be found throughout the reverse.

Die Markers
