Description
1965 WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 1965 Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class V counterclockwise (CCW) spread, pivoting near 10:00, shows on IN GOD WE TRUST (IGWT), the date, the hair at the back of the head and RTY in LIBERTY. On the obverse, three parallel scratches head south from the base of the E in WE, and right of the upper E in LIBERTY there is a short vertical gouge. On the reverse, a vertical gouge lies just left of the upper part of the first S in STATES. John Jencek submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
