Description

Cross-referenced as FS-101 in the Cherrypickers' guide — a notable designation indicating wide collector recognition — this 1964 Proof Roosevelt Dime DDO-005 displays very strong spread on IN GOD WE TRUST, the designer's initials side by side, and LIB of LIBERTY. The obverse carries the ODV-011 (Blunt 9) die marker, where the 9 in the date shows a distinctly blunted or flattened appearance that distinguishes this obverse design variety. Die progression under UVC-434 and DMR-009: Stage A shows both obverse and reverse at EDS, Stage B is unconfirmed at MDS, and Stage C is unconfirmed at LDS. The very strong spread classification places this among the most visually dramatic doubled die varieties for proof Roosevelt Dimes, with the doubling on IGWT and initials readily visible under low magnification. The FS-101 listing confirms its status as a major variety.
