Error
Description
1964 WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse on the 1964 proof Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class V clockwise (CW) spread pivoting near 7:00 shows only on the hair details. The obverse has a Blunt Tail 9 and many scratches on the rim at the left; two especially strong ones sit on the rim under the I in IN, and two small gouges lie under the chin. The reverse is a doubled die, carried in Wexler's doubled die files as 1964 proof WDDR-032, with a counterclockwise (CCW) spread pivoting near 3:00 on ONE, UNITED STATES and E PLU. Gouges sit on the rim under the right side of ONE's O, near the rim over the left side of OF's F, and left of DIME's D. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler's comments say this is probably a replacement listing, as the files previously had an unexplained gap here.
