Description

Displaying two distinct classes of hub doubling on a single die, DDO-013 on the 1964 Philadelphia Jefferson Nickel combines medium standard spread on WE TRUST with rotational (Class V pivoted) spread on IN GOD and the front of Jefferson's collar. Die markers UVC-1808 and DMR-075 confirm this working die — the exceptionally high DMR-075 number reflecting the extensive cataloging of 1964 Jefferson Nickel die markers, consistent with this final pre-clad year's enormous mintage that required hundreds of working dies. The dual-class doubling pattern is diagnostically significant: standard spread on WE TRUST indicates linear hub displacement producing uniform offset across those letters, while rotational spread on IN GOD and the collar front indicates a pivoted component to the hub misalignment that created progressively varying offset on those elements depending on their distance from the rotation center.
