Description

Attributed by Timothy Wissert, Class II Distorted Hub Doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, the star, and the date of this 1963 Proof Jefferson Nickel. Obverse markers: series of die gouges between the back of Jefferson's collar and his queue (tied hair at the rear of the portrait). Reverse: series of die dots right of the small left semicircular window on the Monticello facade. Cross-referenced as Wexler Variety ID: 1963 WDDO-019 Proof. Nineteen DDOs complement the even larger DDR population for this date, and the 3.07 million proof sets produced in 1963 continue yielding new discoveries.
