1962 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-025

Description

Class II + V, Distorted and Pivoted Hub Doubling     "Best Of" Nickel Doubled Die VarietiesA strong spread toward the center shows on LIBERTY, the star and the date.  A closer counterclockwise spread shows on IN GOD WE TRUST from a pivot at approximately 4 o’clock. Die Markers: Obverse: Long, slanted die scratch under star, numerals 1 and 9 of date; series of slanted die scratches between L and I of LIBERTY; two almost vertical die scratches from lower portion of N of IN; die scratch SW from tip of Jefferson's chin. Reverse: Listed as 1962 5c WDDR-066.
