Description

Third cataloged doubled die reverse for the 1957 Proof Roosevelt Dime, DDR-003 presents light spread on ONE DIME and OF AMERICA — hub doubling affecting the denomination and a portion of the national inscription on the reverse. Cataloged by VarietyVista with UVC-296 and DMR-007, this proof variety progresses through three die stages: Stage A (EDS, unconfirmed), Stage B (MDS), and Stage C (LDS, unconfirmed), with Stage B as the confirmed attribution window. As a proof issue struck on 90% silver planchets, this dime was produced using polished dies on polished planchets, creating mirror-like fields that make even light doubling more apparent than on business strikes.
