Description
The 1955-D Doubled Die Reverse DDR-004 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1955 (D) Jefferson Nickel, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-401 DMR-002 Stage A: Reverse DDR is close but discernible – EDS Obverse is EDS Stage B: Two die scratches from Left roof toward R of PLURIBUS – EMDS Obverse is EMDS Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). Reverse is LISTED as RPM-001.
