Description
The 1955-D Doubled Die Reverse DDR-003 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1955 (D) Jefferson Nickel, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-405 DMR-006 Stage A: Die scratch West from dome – EDS Die scratch North-South through D of UNITED Two die scratches North-South in front of eye – EDS Stage B: Reverse and Obverse are MDS Stage C: Only die scratch through D of UNITED remains – LDS Obverse is LDS. Reverse is LISTED as OMM-003.
