Among the scarcer proof-only Lincoln Wheat Cent varieties of the 1950s, DDR-001 displays medium spread and extra thickness across E PLURIBUS UNUM, the upper portion of ONE, and both wheat ears and stems. Cataloged by VarietyVista as UVC-1824 with die marriage reference DMR-003, this doubled die reverse has been tracked across three die stages. Stage A represents early die state and Stage B captures mid-die-state, though both remain unconfirmed. Stage C documents a reverse in late die state, identifiable by a vertical die gouge running through the middle of Lincoln's beard — a prominent diagnostic making late-stage specimens straightforward to attribute.
