Description
Extra thickness on EPU, USA, HALF DOLLAR, and the outer parts of the bell.Die Markers: Obverse: NW/SE die scratch through the 1 in the date. Old NE/SW die scratch at the throat. NW/SE die scratches above the date and in front of the face. Strong NW/SE die scratch from the designer's initials JRS to the W in WE. E/W die scratch right of the B in LIBERTY. Die gouge midway between the I in IN and the back of the head. Die gouge above the OD in GOD. Die gouge in the upper opening of the R in TRUST. Reverse: Strong N/S die scratches between EPU and the bell. Strong N/S die scratches right of the bell supports and between the eagle and the last A in AMERICA. NW/SE die scratches through STATES OF. E/W die scratch through the D in UNITED. Thin die scratch N from the H in HALF. Thin NW/SE die scratches through the D in DOLLAR and the clapper.
