Description
1950 WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 1950 proof Franklin half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. HALF DOLLAR, E PLURIBUS UNUM and USA show extra thickness spread toward the center. The obverse is the doubled die 1950 WDDO-002. Its markers are a gouge at the lower right of TRUST's R and a crack climbing north from the rim and crossing GOD's D on its right side. On the reverse, a gouge lies left of the top of UNITED's U, and the eagle's right leg has a diagonal scratch across it. Brett L. Parrish submitted the variety. Wexler notes no cross-references.
