Description
1950-D WDDO-007 is a doubled die obverse on the 1950-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling shows as an extra eyelid beneath the normal one. Obverse markers: a gouge on the bust, low at the front; clash marks right of the throat and left of the back of the neck; and a gouge extending out from the E of WE at its top right. Reverse markers: a clash mark low between CENT's C and E that reaches down to the I of UNITED, and a tapered top right on the N of ONE, the result of heavy abrasion of the die. Daniel Griffin submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
