1950 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-005

Description

1950-D WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse on the 1950-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling shows as a second eyelid lying just beneath the normal one. Obverse markers: a gouge that curves SSW to NNE and then turns east, low on the right of the vest's center fold; a short scratch heading north from the mint mark's top left; and a gouge on the rim, between TRUST's U and S. On the reverse, a SW-to-NE scratch sits left of the E in E PLURIBUS UNUM, and a WSW-to-ENE scratch lies over the second A of AMERICA. Brian Ribar submitted the variety.
