Description
The 1945 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1945 (P) Jefferson Nickel - Wartime Silver Alloy, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-208 DMR-018 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Die gouge East-West through upper hair – EMDS Die clash through queue Reverse is LISTED as RPM-017 – EMDS Light die scratches East-west through mintmark Stage C: Obverse and Reverse are MDS Stage C: Obverse and Reverse are LDS. Reverse is LISTED as RPM-017.
