Description

Class II, Distorted Hub DoublingClass II doubling shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and CENTS. Die Markers: Obverse: Stage A:  Small die gouge below I of LIBERTY. Stage B: Stage  A marker still present; NE/SW die crack at the top of head; parallel die scratches run SW/NE to the left of the face; N/S die scratches behind the head; die scratch connects the E and R in LIBERTY. Reverse: Stage A: X-shaped die scratches to right of long left window; long slanted die scratch extending from upper right side of N of CENTS. Stage B Stage A markers are abraded away;  die crack extends N from the upper left serif of the mintmark D, along  the right side of the B in PLURIBUS and to the rim: NW/SE die crack across the dome; die gouge inside the O in OF; die gouge above the AT in STATES;  Listed as WRPM-024.
