Description

The strongest doubled die obverse in the 1943-S wartime Jefferson Nickel catalog, DDO-006 exhibits strong spread on IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, the five-pointed star, and the date — a classification that places it well above the light-spread majority of 1943-S DDO varieties. Die markers UVC-746 and DMR-020 confirm this working die. Strong spread indicates the hub displacement magnitude was substantial enough to produce clearly separated, readily visible secondary images on all four obverse elements without requiring high magnification — a rare intensity level that makes DDO-006 the most visually dramatic variety in the 1943-S DDO sequence.
